Torque Sensing

In the past the market for torque sensors has been limited to laboratory applications. Measurements essential for control and regulation of the engine and transmission have been replaced by complex mathematical models used for estimating torque. The development and industrialization of magnetoelastic sensors has overcome these downfalls, which in turn has given rise to many new in-vehicle applications for torque measurement. Methode’s magnetoelastic sensors are accurate, compact and robust, making them the perfect solution for automotive environments. Extremely high signal bandwidth allows for dynamic measurements at high rotational speeds, while exposed to extreme temperatures and in some cases submerged in caustic fluids.
